In a recent interview with Deadline it was revealed that Amazon is getting closer to making a deal for a Mass Effect TV show. The interview was with Amazon Studios boss Jennifer Salke who reveals that the company is nearing a deal to develop a TV series about the franchise.
Sadly, no information was provided about what the potential Mass Effect show will include. Salke did note that Amazon plans to keep investing in the fantasy genre and that they have a “genre focused team” in the studios working with different creative partners.
There have been long-term plans for a Mass Effect movie but this never happened and BioWare revealed it was due to the limited run-time of a film. Mass Effect veteran developer Mac Walters commented at the time that a TV show would be “the way to do it”.
