On September 18, 2024, Nintendo Co Ltd., alongside The Pokémon Company, initiated a lawsuit against Pocketpair Inc. in the Tokyo District Court, alleging patent infringement related to the game "Palworld." The lawsuit asserts that Pocketpair's game infringes upon multiple patent rights held by Nintendo, prompting the company to seek an injunction to halt the alleged infringement and compensation for damages incurred.

Nintendo, headquartered in Kyoto, Japan, and led by Representative Director and President Shuntaro Furukawa, has a long-standing commitment to protecting its intellectual property rights. The company emphasizes that it will continue to take necessary legal actions against any violations that threaten its brand and the extensive intellectual properties it has cultivated over the years.

This legal action underscores Nintendo's proactive stance in safeguarding its innovations and maintaining the integrity of its beloved gaming franchises.
